First day of Spring

Today is the first day of spring and while it is still 35 degrees outside, I have started planning my container garden. This is a little corner area that I have set up with pots of plants, flowers, etc... with my lounge chair and umbrella for afternoon relaxing. There is a little pad for the chair and small stones cover the ground with a matching border. Last year I didn't do much but this year I already have plans to start some seeds and make some new planting pots. I also want to make some concrete spheres for decorative accents.

I found this

Succulent frame
which I think will work great with some of my smaller frames that are currently stuck in a box in the
furnace room, slowly rotting. I'm going to use three smaller ones and hang them from the eve, almost against the house and fill them with something similar to petunias.

I also found this

Planter
which I plan to make two or three of and set against either the house or the deck. I like this because it will use some of the dozens of two liter bottles we have in our recycle bin. I'm thinking I'll forgo the lettering and paint the wood.

I also plan to use the two liter bottles for starting seeds and in my huge planters to help the watering.

My sweetie husband cleared a shelf in the garage that is in front of the perfect window to start seeds. I'll keep you posted - hoping to start some seeds this weekend!
